TIEF and Marijn Migchielsen

Last Monday Marijn Migchielsen and Rommert Groenhof premiered my TIEF! for two contrabass trombones at Marijn’s Masters Exam at Codarts Rotterdam, the Netherlands. And I could not be there….. (family reasons) I wrote the piece especially for this occasion.
To miss one of the most outstanding bass trombone performances ever (at least that is what jury member and bass trombone hero Ben van Dijk (Rotterdam Philharmonic) wrote) Marijn received his Masters degree with Excellence and Cum Laude…!!!
Hope to post that performance real soon!
Marijn got his Bachelor’s degree at Amsterdam’s CvA with Ben van Dijk and his Masters degree at Rotterdam’s Codarts with Brandt Attema.

  • Wind Quintet, BOST

One of the finest musicians I ever worked with is hornplayer Ron Schaaper (Residentie Orchestra The Hague; Netherlands Wind Ensemble). He also plays some lovely guitar and sings wonderfully, a typical specimen of a very handy and naturally gifted musician. (with a good sense of humor) Always wanted to write something for him and two…
